I am a Spy Frog and I snoop around the pond near Spynook in Spook Woods. The stone I am sitting on is not an ordinary stone. It is a hollow artificial stone for spies to leave info in for their handlers to pick up like a dead letter box. Only this is not just for papers. it is electronic. Inside there is special computer and the spy has an electronic gadget with the data stored inside and when he comes past he can transmit that into the computer in the fake stone . Then the handler comes and collects the info from the stone with his electronic gadget. MI 6 developed it and it was deployed in Moscow only the Russians had spotted one of the agents behaving suspiciously and filmed them on a spy camera. Which is funny really because you would think that the whole idea of an electronic dead drop is that it easy to use undetected. But when people are using electronic devices they forget about tradecraft and if the device does not work easily they get agitated and bad tempered and smack it or kick it and that sort of behaviour gets recorded on security cameras. MI6 and the British government were embarrassed at the revelations about the secret stone but obviously they denied any misconduct, which is understandable. There was no proof of any real harm done. Governments get up to a lot of dodgy things they want to hide and the espionage industry work on ways of concealing secrets and ways of discovering them. I use the stone just to sit on. I used to boast that I was on guard against electronic flying robot spies. But to be honest I think you would need an electronic frog to do that and one specially designed for the job. Some Spynookers think I am electronic. I think I do have a chip on my shoulder but I don't think that makes me an electronic. We all get chipped these days, don't we? Like as not you have a chip on your shoulder and might not even realize it. Officially it is supposed to be for our own protection. Unofficially I am not sure about that. I reckon I ought to be protected because I am endangered. Most of the birds have legal protection except the magpies and other crows. They are very clever but they are not too popular. I have a big mouth so I am not trusted with very important secrets, just the ones that the Spynookers want everyone to know. Then I don't think many of the Spynookers are much good at keeping secrets. Not that it matters much. The birds chatter away making so much noise that no one can make out what they are saying. Sometimes though it is important to reveal secrets like when there is a dangerous enemy about so as to warn everyone. The blackbird is good at that because he is vigilant and gives a clear alarm signal. Although the birds are supposed to be protected against enemies like you there are more dangerous enemies like Spycat that they are not protected against so they have to rely on their own defenses. I do some underwater surveillance. There is a lot hidden in that pond and although I have a big mouth there are things I prefer not to reveal if you know what I mean. Though frankly I hope you do not because there is a lot goes on round here that it is better you do not know. Just mind where you stick your nose and put your big feet and don't make trouble stirrung up mud. Have a nice day and a pleasant evening.
