Spies are watchers and listeners who stay in the background. They want you to reveal yourself, your secrets without being inhibited by an awareness of their presence. As spies they are detached observers. Of course it may happen that the spy develops an interest in you as a person but that may complicate the spying operation. People who are emotionally spontaneous are unlikely to make good spies. We would select as spies those who are calm. intelligent and observant and who have insight and understanding, curiosity and self control. Flamboyant high speed action men may be more fun to watch on the cinema screen. In real life they can be too much trouble. They are the ones who seem to participate in those special covert operations that go disastrously wrong and give intelligence services a bad reputation.
Spy Cat enjoys spying for the sake of it and claims not to divulge any information. He adopts the pose of a therapist and possibly people benefit from confiding in him if he has nothing to gain from betraying them.
Spy Frog is concerned to demonstrate his value as a spy in the age of electronic surveillance.
Punk Spy enjoyed being a spy and misses the life. He seems to have quite enjoyed the deception it involved. Of course spying does imply a breach of personal privacy. Even if you are an exhibitionist you may feel uncomfortable about the idea of being spied upon. It is like being stalked, hunted. The government assures us that it spies upom us in our own interests to protect us against terrorists and scoundrels and if we have nothing to hide we have nothing to fear. That assumes that the government is genuinely benign, not an oppressive authority from which we need protection. It also assumes that the government has accurate data which is infallibly protected against theft."Trust us, we are on your side". But who gets protected? The government has top priority and the military. We do not like being spied on but we might be tempted to spy on others. But if we are caught spying on others we might find that quite embarrassing. Punks are not easily embarrassed but the spying game can put spies into impossible situations. And often the information we really need is information that is already openly available to us but we neglect because we overvalue the importance of information that is hidden and have to sniff out or steal.

Undercover Spy is more undercover than most of Spynook spies and sometimes finds wandering back and forth in Spookwoods confusing.
